Via public transport

From Köln/Bonn airport

1. Follow the sign "S-Bahn" and take the S13, destination "Horrem". You need to deboard at "Hansaring". Starting with 05:24 a train departs every 20 minutes. The one-way fare is 5?; the ticket is valid for 120 minutes - so you can take a break in between as long as you do not change travel direction - and can be used all the way to "Pohlighaus" (which means you do not have to buy a ticket for the tram at Hansaring). The train ride from the airport to Hansaring takes approximately 15 minutes. For more detailed information on departure time tables, ticket prices etc. visit the VRS Homepage.
2. At Hansaring take the tram 12, destination "Zollstock/ Südfriedhof" (a tram departs every 10 minutes). Deboard at "Pohligstrasse" (the 8th station). Looking in the direction the tram departs, the "Pohlighaus" lies directly to your right.

From Cologne Central Station ("Köln Hbf")

1. After leaving the train follow the signs to "Dom/City". You arrive in the main entrance hall with view at the cathedral.
2. Follow the signs to "U-Bahn" (underground), which are a white "U" on blue ground. Go downstairs to the station and take the first flight of stairs you come across to reach the right track.
3. Take tram 16 or 18. Remember to buy a ticket (category "A", 2,20 €, valid for 90 min). Vending machines can be found in every tram.
4. After 4 stops and about 6 minutes you reach "Barbarossaplatz". Deboard and change to tram 12, destination "Zollstock/Südfriedhof". A tram departs every 10 minutes.
5. After 3 stops, deboard at "Pohligstr.". Looking in the direction the tram departs, the "Pohlighaus" lies directly to your right.

Via car

Arriving from the north (motorway junction "Köln Nord")

1. At junction "Köln-Nord" turn into motorway 57, direction Zentrum/City.
2. Leave the motorway at exit "Köln-Lindenthal/-Sülz". Be aware that due to a traffic light right beyond the turn there may be unexpected holdups.
3. After leaving the motorway you are in the "Innere Kanalstraße". Follow this road for about 5km. The name changes, first to "Universitätsstraße", then to "Weißhausstraße" and about 500m further (at a railway bridge) to "Pohligstraße".
4. At the second crossing after the bridge you find the "Pohlighaus" (the grey six-floor building with the blueish windows).

Arriving from the west/south (motorway junction "Köln-West" or "Köln-Süd")

1. In case you arrive here using motorway 3 turn into motorway 4 at the junction "Dreieck/Kreuz Rath-Heumar", direction "Aachen". In case you get here using motorway 1 turn into motorway 4 at the junction "Kreuz Köln-West", direction "Olpe/Frankfurt".
2. Use exit "Köln-Klettenberg" and follow the signs to "Zentrum/City".
3. After leaving the motorway, you are on the "Luxemburger Straße", stay on this road for about 2,7 km, until you arrive at a crossing close to the "Uni-Center", which is a massive 30-floor-high building. At this crossing, follow the signs to "Köln-Zollstock" (i.e., turn right). If you drive past the building of the "ADAC" or the "Arbeitsamt", you have missed the crossing!
4. You are now on the "Weißhausstraße". This road changes its name to "Pohligstraße" at a railway bridge.
5. At the second crossing after the bridge you find the "Pohlighaus" (which is the grey six-floor building with the blueish windows).
